What area in Los Angeles would you recommend to stay in on vacation?

We are planning a trip to LA, and are currently looking at a hotel in Northern Cahuenga Blvd. It is called Hollywood Best Inn and it is very cheap. Is that a safe neighborhood to live in for 9 days?

We are planning to experience some of the landmarks and party a lot. The hotel have to be cheap. Which areas is recommended for that?

ive lived here my whole life, and people from other states worries about the “conditions”, and crime are irrational. stay in a place in the valley by the 101 freeway and you are ok for the most part, and the area you are describing sounds like toluca lake/burbank which is a nice area in itself.

I couldn’t find any reviews of this hotel. But I did find another hotel, very close by which had 3 good reviews on Expedia. Check it out. Have fun in L.A.

Of course it’s safe. There’s a historical landmark on that same street! On 3400 Cahuenga Blvd, you’ll see the now abandoned Hanna-Barbera studios (the people who made The Flinstones, Top Cat, Yogi Bear, Snagglepuss, Scooby Doo, SWAT Kats, etc.)

Unfortunately, the Hollywood Best Inn is located near a busy thoroughfare/intersection of Cahuenga Boulevard and Franklin Avenue. The nighclub directly across from the Best Inn is often very noisy. A far better choice would be the $70/per day offering at the Trylon Hotel, located at 6515 Franklin Avenue [northside between Grace and Wilcox Avenues], Tel.: (323) 851-7036. It’s a cleaner quieter neighborhood.

    Good luck!

I stayed at Venice Beach. It was amazing. Just a hostel for backpackers, but way better than a hotel! I saw the ocean out my window and in the mornings in the square below- a fire blower and other performances. You walk down the beach and there are stalls and cafes, walk down to Santa Monica pier and easy to catch a bus down to Hollywood, Downtown, or wherever you want to go- the bus service is great :)

That area is as good as any. Hollywood can be a bit spotty, but that’s a cheap, no-frills hotel that has good and bad reviews on TripAdvisor:
